September 2025 Member Spotlight: Tim Veler

Meet Tim Veler, CCIM, Principal and Managing Director of SVN Veler Commercial, and a dedicated leader in the Dallas-Fort Worth commercial real estate scene. Specializing in industrial, land, and office properties, Tim excels in acquisitions, dispositions, investment sales, agency leasing, and tenant representation. He works with national giants like Prologis and LINK Industrial, as well as local investors, always prioritizing strategic insight, market mastery, and client-aligned solutions.

Tim's journey into commercial real estate began in 1994 alongside a nine-year career as a police officer in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as a SWAT team member, detective, and instructor. His background in high-pressure environments, combined with his experience as a collegiate wrestler at NC State and 3rd-degree black belt in Judo, instilled a discipline and resilience that define his approach today. Transitioning from managing family investments to brokerage at Transwestern and now leading his own SVN office, Tim has built a career on turning challenges into opportunities.

Tim's deep involvement in NTCAR reflects his commitment to the industry. A board member and our government affairs liaison, he's also served on committees and advocated for policies that strengthen North Texas commercial real estate. What drew him to NTCAR? The chance to collaborate with peers across sectors, fostering authentic connections that lead to innovative deals and mentorship. His most meaningful engagement has been contributing to events like the annual Golf Tournament, where networking meets community-building in a fun, inclusive setting.

What Tim loves about commercial real estate is its blend of creativity, problem-solving, and lasting impact. To newcomers, he advises: "Embrace curiosity, build genuine relationships, and draw on life's lessons for resilience. Success comes from consistent effort and celebrating every win, big or small."

Outside the office, Tim is a family man at heart, spending time with his wife and best friend, Lani Veler, CCIM, and their 11 children.  They are frequently cheering their younger children on at sports games, guiding the older ones through rental property investments, or playing with their brown Lab and Chiweenie. On Sundays, he's been ushering at Stonebriar Community Church since 2008, grounding his life in service and faith. We're proud to have Tim as a leader in our organization!
