Marichelle Samples was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica. She spent her early years in Canada and became a Dallas resident in 1995. Marichelle later graduated from McKinney High School. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Texas A&M University – Commerce and her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Marichelle worked for the Dallas City Attorney’s Office for approximately 10 years and spent time in both the litigation division and general counsel division. While in Dallas, her practice focused heavily on economic and housing development projects. In January of 2022, she joined the City of Lewisville as the Director of Economic Development, and in this role, she is implementing and coordinating economic development policies and related activities in the City of Lewisville. When she’s not at work, Marichelle likes to spend time with her husband, Benjamin, and their two children.
