Dr. Irina Panovska is an associate professor of economics at the School of Economic, Political, and Policy Sciences at the University of Texas at Dallas. Her research interests focus on modeling the macroeconomy, in particular the responses of the economy to different policy actions, and on the speed and duration of economic recoveries. The second stream of her research is methodological and focuses on identifying the trend and cyclical movements that define the state of the economy.
She received her PhD in economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2013, MA in economics from Washington University in St. Louis in 2009, and BA in economics and BS in mathematics from Ohio University in 2007. She has also held visiting scholar positions at the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, and the EFZG in Zagreb, Croatia.
